Daytona State College Building 500 (Academic Support Center)
DescriptionProject consisted of the demolition and removal of the majority of the existing Building 500. The western most 8,000 square feet of the existing building was left in place to undergo a major renovation.
A 46,000 square foot three (3) story classroom building was constructed in the area where the part of the existing building 500 had been removed. This new three (3) story building is a pre-cast tilt panel building with a structural steel skeleton. The tilt panels have brick accents and a textured coating with a cornice at the roof line. Connecting this three (3) story building with the remaining building 500 is an enclosed breezeway housing a coffee bar and also topped at the roof line with the cornice detail that has been applied to the new building.
Client’s Recommendation: “As Director of the Facilities Planning Department for Daytona Beach Community College, I have had the opportunity to work with Hall Construction Co., Inc. on several projects over the past fifteen years. Hall Construction has completed projects for DBCC in the capacity of General Contractor and as Construction Manager at Risk. The projects have ranged from small (under $500,000); to large ($7,000,000) and have included new construction, renovation and remodel projects.
The College has been very pleased with all the work Hall Construction has done for us. The projects have been well coordinated, completed in a timely fashion and within/or under budget. I look forward to continuing to work with Hall Construction and would confidently recommend them to others.” Steven D. Eckman, P. E. Director Facilities Planning Department
